Turning Our Home Into A Jungle

Most people see an empty corner and think, “That would be a nice place for a chair.” We see an empty corner and think, “We could fit at least two Peace Lilies, a Monstera and a hanging Pothos there.”.
Welcome to Our House Is A Jungle. If you’ve ever found yourself apologizing to a drooping Peace Lily or celebrating a new leaf like it’s a lottery win, you’ve found your people.
The “How We Got Here”.
As we mentioned on our [About Us] page, we didn’t start as experts. We started as documented plant grim reapers. Our journey began with a single, shrivelled cactus on the kitchen windowsill that was one bad day away from the compost bin. We were two people with a shared curiosity: Could we actually keep this thing alive?
That one survivor turned into two. Two turned into ten. Ten turned into… well, we’re almost losing count (mostly to keep our sanity).
What This Blog Is (and Isn’t)
This isn’t a textbook. We aren’t botanists. This is a field journal of our life among the vines. Here’s what you can expect from us:
- The Highs: Propagation success stories and that “new leaf” feeling.
- The Lows: Honest accounts of the plants that didn’t make it.
- The How-To: Practical tips we’ve learned the hard way so you don’t have to.
- The Togetherness: How we navigate plant parenting as a couple without turning the living room into a swamp.
Our house is a jungle, and we’re still learning how to navigate the trails. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or you’re currently staring at your first brown leaf in a panic, we’re so glad you’re here.
Tell us in the comments: What was the “Gateway Plant” that started your collection?
